The Placement of Your Trash Can Matters
Place your cart at the curb on either side of your driveway, with the wheels closest to the curb and the lid opening toward the street. Keep the cart clear of obstacles so automated trucks can safely collect it.
Cart placement checklist:
- Keep 5 feet of space from mailboxes, lights, and other carts
- Keep 18 feet of space from cars, trees, and fences
- Do not block the sidewalk
- Face the lid toward the street
- Close the lid completely
